Inserting
a search box
At any point in your store you can give users the ability search your store
for any particular product by inserting a search box.
To do this:
1. Insert a Display Item
2. Select a template that displays 'Description' only
3. Activate the HTML editor by clicking the <Â…> below the 'Description' field
4. Click the 'Insert Search Box' button
5. Set up the width, default value and button alignment for your search box
6. Click 'OK'
Laying
out your results page
The results the search engine sends back are displayed on a customisable results
page.
The results page can be customised along the following lines:
- The background image and colour of the page
- Header and Footer HTML
- The number of results per page
- The number of columns per page
- The appearance of the result items
To do this:
1. Select Tools > OptionsÂ… from the main EROL toolbar
2. Click on the 'Search' button
3. Ensure that 'Enable search' is checked
4. Assign the page attributes governing the look and feel of the page
5. Assign an item template to govern the appearance of the results
6. Click 'Save & Close' to commit your results page
